NSP-500 Series Description: The MEAN WELL NSP-500 series is a 500W enclosed AC/DC power supply family engineered for demanding industrial, medical, and automation environments. It features active PFC, an ultra-wide 85~305Vac input range, and high efficiency up to 95%, helping reduce energy loss and system operating costs. Typical no load power consumption is <0.75W, supporting energy saving and carbon reduction goals. With a compact 199 × 99 × 41mm footprint, the NSP-500 series is easy to integrate into dense control cabinets and equipment enclosures. The design includes a constant current limiting circuit and provides up to 200% peak power for up to 5 seconds on 12–60V models, making it suitable for dynamic or motor like loads. Built in remote ON/OFF control, remote sense, and DC-OK signal support intelligent system control and health monitoring. A conformal coated PCB improves resistance to dust, humidity, and industrial contaminants, while forced air cooling via a built in DC fan keeps operation stable with fan noise typically under 45 dB. The NSP-500 series operates over a -40°C to +85°C ambient range, with full load available up to about +60°C before derating, and can be used at altitudes up to 5000m (derating applies above 2000m). It meets Over Voltage Category III (up to 2000m) for robust installation at the mains side, and supports OVC II use at higher altitudes when installed per safety standards. For medical applications, the series offers extremely low earth leakage current (<350µA at 277Vac), 2 x MOPP insulation between primary and secondary, and is suitable for BF rated medical equipment. Safety approvals include IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, IEC 60601-1, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC/EN 61558-1/-2-16, IEC 61010-1/-2-201, and IEC 62477-1, covering IT, industrial, household, and medical use cases.
